JOIN US EVERY MONTH ON ZOOM
Free Grief Gathering
Join grief coach and curator Charlene Lam for The Grief Gallery’s free monthly gathering for community connection and creative inspiration. We meet online on Zoom in our imaginary gallery space on the last Wednesday of the month at 2pm ET / 7pm UK time. We’re entering our 5th year of these free monthly grief calls!
Grief Support That’s Not Grim
We start off with an introduction to The Grief Gallery® (with visuals). Then we’ll open it up for conversation and sharing.
Feel free to bring an object to share in our virtual gallery space: An item or the story of an item you’ve kept after a loved one died.
Alternatively, there’s no pressure to turn on your camera or to speak if you do not wish to –– all curious and kind grievers are welcome!
During these gatherings, we:
- Make space for grief
- Share stories about our loved ones
- Get a taste of the creative Curating Grief® approach
- Learn more about why the lens of curating and meaningful objects can be so powerful for grievers
We meet:
- Last Wednesday of every month
- on Zoom
- 2-3pm Eastern Time / 7-8pm UK
- Free to Attend
hello
I’m Charlene
I help grieving people feeling burdened by responsibilities, resentments and regrets after the death of a loved one to feel lighter –– so you can live your own fullest life.
After the sudden death of my mother Marilyn in 2013, I put my life, work and grief on hold as I struggled to deal with the estate, paperwork and belongings.
Healing took time — and it took help.
I’m a certified grief coach, with particular focus on tapping into creativity, storytelling, narrative processing and meaning reconstruction for post-traumatic growth.
My certifications and accreditations include ACC accreditation through ICF, grief coach certification through the Institute for Life Coach Training, grief therapist Claire Bidwell Smith’s Grief and Loss program, and grief therapist Megan Devine’s Grief Care training through PESI, as well as ongoing training via What’s Your Grief’s continuing education, and the Portland Institute of Grief and Loss programs in using art and meaning reconstruction in grief work.
As curator of The Grief Gallery, I present exhibitions internationally online and in-person about grief and loss, often featuring the belongings of people’s lost loved ones.
I’m the author of the book Curating Grief: A Creative Guide to Choosing What to Keep After a Loved One Dies.
My TEDx talk “What Grief and Soy Sauce Taught Me About Life After Loss,” selected as a TEDx Editor’s Pick, has been viewed more than 20,000 times.
A proud New Yorker, I split my time between NYC and Lisbon, Portugal, and travel frequently for work and leisure.
