When we experience Grief and Loss after the death of a loved one, we are often confronted with circumstances outside our control.

  • Death, illness, life-changing diagnoses.
  • How other people act, and what they say or don’t say.
  • Family dynamics and conflicts.
  • Our bodies and brains responding in unfamiliar ways.

And often, because we’re the “responsible ones” we may suddenly have a lot more stuff on our plates. 

  • The physical stuff: Belongings, heirlooms, junk, piles to sort through.
  • The responsibilities: The estate, probate, paperwork, appointments, endless decisions.
  • The emotional stuff: Regret, resentment, anger, anxiety, guilt, the strained relationships. The sheer exhaustion.

When we feel like we might lose even more: Our own physical or mental health, our relationships, our livelihood.

I’m Charlene

I help grieving people to feel more supported, less alone and better-equipped to navigate the practical and emotional aftermath of losing a loved one.

After my mother died suddenly in 2013, I leaned into my creativity and instincts as a curator to guide myself through grief. From there, I decided to help other people with their grief.

I’m a certified grief coach, with a focus on storytelling, meaning-making and post-traumatic growth.

I believe we are ALL curators after a loved one dies. I use the lens of curating and my Curating Grief framework to help people heal in a creative, accessible way.

UNPACKING GRIEF: INDIVIDUAL GRIEF SUPPORT

Introductory Call

90min on Zoom

Book a one-off call to get grief guidance, to try out grief coaching or while you wait for availability for ongoing sessions.

Here’s when you might use a call:

  • Something’s happened, and you need to talk about it in a safe, non-judgmental space.
  • You want to help support a grieving friend, spouse or colleague, but you don’t know how.
  • Your grief is leaking or exploding out in unpredictable ways, and you need to unload and get a handle on it.
  • You’re curious about how you might Curate Grief or otherwise start your own creative grief project to remember your person.
Your Individual Grief Coaching Call includes:
  • 90min video call via Zoom
  • Recording on request
  • Follow-up by email from Charlene within a week with a personalized video recapping and reflecting on what was shared and discussed, recommendations for resources and/or next steps.

    An individual, introductory grief coaching call is $300 USD

    If you decide to proceed with a full grief coaching package within a month of our call, $50 from this fee will be applied to your coaching package.

    Six-Sessions on Zoom

    Let’s work together over 2-3 months to make space for your grief.

    Whether your significant loss(es) are months, years or decades ago, you might have unacknowledged or unprocessed grief that’s weighing you down.

    Let’s unpack, so you can:

    • Have dedicated time to your grief.
    • See clearly what you’ve been carrying.
    • Prepare yourself to curate (aka choose with intention) what you bring forward with you.
    • Make space for what really matters to you.
    • Feel lighter as you move forward with your own fullest life!

    Here are examples of what we can work on:

    • UNPACKING GRIEF: Look at what hurts and what feels heavy in a supportive space.
    • UNTANGLING RELATIONSHIPS: Navigate conflicts with family members, friends and other relationships after a significant loss
    • MAKING  SPACE FOR WHAT’S IMPORTANT: Make choices about what you keep and what you discard of the physical stuff
    • CONTINUING BONDS: Explore and create ways to honor the memory of and stay connected to your loved one
    • LOOKING AHEAD: Have a plan and take action toward the life you want to live

    Throughout, you’ll have space held for your grief, get my insights and learn how to navigate anything you’re experiencing.

    Intrigued by the idea of curating an exhibition about your loved one? An exhibition can serve as a beautiful memorial, tribute or other tangible expression of love for your loved one.

    With this premium package, we’ll work closely over the course of 6 months to plan, prepare and present an exhibition about your person.

    And if you wish, I will travel to you to help you curate and present your exhibition (travel expenses not included).
