dancer: big ups to my bod
With about a week and a half to go before we move on to Sweden, I am quietly saying goodbye to the parts of Munich I will miss. My dance classes have been invaluable, getting me out of the house and out of my head. Thursday night jazz class with Caro has been my favorite, and tonight was my last time. (We’ll be here next Thursday, but I’m going to Oktoberfest so will presumably be in no shape to do pirouettes. The choreography was great, the song catchy, and I found myself grinning as I danced. It just makes me so happy!
On this occasion, I’d like to give the proverbial shout-out to … my body. It rocks! Sure, I’d like my height to be taller, my boobs to be bigger, and certain parts more firm, but all in all, I’m really pleased with my body. And I don’t celebrate it enough. Today, in the dance studio, I was happy with what I saw. My workout clothes were form-fitting, but I looked healthy. My neck looked long, my collar bone looked nice, my arms had nice lines. And hello, my body is doing turns and following choreography! Hooray for muscle memory! Hooray for flexibility! Hooray for having knees that work! Body, I salute thee.
